DEHYDROGENATION OF METALS
Since 1975, we have been operating in the market of the provinces of Reggio Emilia, Bologna and Modena to supply the dehydrogenation (also known as baking procedure) of steel and other metals to the best companies in the area.
Elettrogalvanica Modenese guarantees the elimination of galvanic deposits resulting from the chemical treatment to which metals are subjected, with the aim of maximizing the efficiency of the metals.
We offer our customers a complete service: from metal galvanizing, through various equipment, depending on the needs of the customer, to dehydrogenation (baking), so that the manufactured products do not lose their characteristic qualities of strength and hardness.
We have in-depth experience in the processing of mechanical and hydraulic parts, bicycles and vintage motorcycles. We guarantee the maximum safety and effectiveness of all our services.
HOW AND WHY TO ELIMINATE HYDROGEN
Metals undergo various chemical surface treatments before they can be effectively used in industry. The phases of pickling, degreasing and electrogalvanizing leave a mark on the products: it is very common, in fact, that as a result of this treatment on the surface of steel and iron a layer of hydrogen develops.
Hydrogen and other galvanic deposits on metals can pose a serious threat to the efficiency of our industry. These elements can make the components less robust through a complex chemical reaction. Dehydrogenation (also known as baking procedure) allows elements that have been absorbed during electrolysis to be removed to ensure elasticity and resistance to oxidation.
Elettrogalvanica Modenese has a dedicated furnace for dehydrogenation activities, which is used for the removal of residues on metals for industrial and other purposes. We operate at temperatures up to 200°, to ensure the best possible result.
This treatment is particularly necessary for components that are created to undergo high mechanical stresses, or when elasticity/springiness is the basis for their operation: The typical example is industrial springs. However, our company works hand-in-hand with customers in the areas of Reggio Emilia, Bologna and Modena, to agree on techniques and processing needs on a case-by-case basis.
